How to Onboard New Employees
Day 1: Talent Arts Orientation (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, every other Wednesday)

Day 2: Department training begins
- Provide your new employee with:
- The job description for their role (they can see it in Paycom as well.)
- Department Info Sheet
- Favorite Things Sheet
- Give your new employee a tour of their workspace(s) and introduce their team members. If applicable, take your new employee to the Employee Meal Window for lunch.
- Print and work on the Competency Checklist with your new employee (or another tool like Hot Schedules, as determined by your department director).

In Paycom, go ahead and start working on the orientation checklist:
Go to Paycom > Talent Management > Performance Management > Performance Dashboard.

- Filter by the orientation checklist.
- Select your new employee and check-off the required steps.
- Click Save.
Notes: Wait to finalize in Paycom you upload proof of training. Please remember that staff in healthcare areas must have TB read (after 2 days) before starting training in healthcare.

Day 3:
Take your new employee to get their TB read.
By Day 7:
Personally check-in with your new employee by day 7 to see how their training is going.
Week 2:.
Take your new employee to have TB test #2 read.
Month 1:.
1. Upload the completed Competency Checklist (or other proof of job training, as determined by your department director) to the Paycom New Hire Checklist. Review and FINALIZE.
2. Your new employee must sign-off on the review while in your office.
DIRECTORS/VPS: Quarterly, you will meet with new hires. The Senior Director/VP will arrange a group luncheon for new hires. Encourage staff to participate in our new hire survey training: New Hire Survey Flyer.
